Yes. Changes may be made by email or text. However kindly note, 24 hours minimum notice is required, or the session will be charged at the full rate.
This is individual. Just like learning to play an instrument, real change can take time and dedication. Where difficulties are long-standing, or there is a history of trauma, we work through these at a pace at which the individual is ready.
Counselling is often focused on providing short term support and solutions to help people adjust within their present circumstances. Counsellors may or may not be university trained.
Psychologists work within a medical model, and are usually trained to use CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy). Psychologists often do short term work and are focused on symptom reduction, and may be able to diagnose.
A psychotherapist will take time to look at the ‘big picture’ of your concerns, connecting the present issues with wider patterns in your life. This allows for deeper work, with the aim of long lasting change. Psychotherapists do specialised, post graduate training.
